Asian Studies

The interdisciplinary minor in Asian Studies is six courses (18 hours minimum) selected in consultation with an Asian Studies advisor. There is one required gateway course which students may choose from among the following:  ASN 108, ARH 143, HIS 249, HIS 250, HIS 251, HIS 297 or REL 203.  Each student must take courses from three different disciplines in the minor. The student's program would be greatly strengthened by including the study of an Asian language, two courses of which may be counted among the six course minor. NAU students may also minor in Japanese language through the Department of Modern Languages.

NAU has exchange programs in Asia and the Middle East through which students may earn credits. Contact the International Office for more information. In order to begin your minor in Asian Studies you need to see one of the Asian Studies Faculty and take a look at the Asian Studies Courses that are available to you.
