In response to student concerns, the English Department has created the Ted Johnson English Advising Center. The center provides advising assistance to English majors, English education majors and English minors. It also host resources ranging from career information, seminars, graduation preparation and a gathering place for students with common interests.
Since their files will be on hand, students can drop in and meet with whatever advisors are available. If students like a particular advisor, they can make appointments to work with them each time. Otherwise, the staff on hand will be able to serve their needs. Present students will keep their current advisors, but are encouraged to use the room as a meeting place and an added resource. Freshmen will continue to be advised through the Gateway center throughout their freshmen year. After declaring an English Major they can then come to the English Advising Center for further advising.
The Advising Center is located in the Liberal Arts Bldg (#18), room #305. The phone number is ( 928) 523-2446.
