Stephen has taught previously at universities in Florida, Georgia, and (as a Fulbright scholar) in Central America and Eastern Europe. As a journalist, he has written for newspapers and magazines such as the Miami Herald, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Washington Post, and GEO. He has also worked as a professional writer and editor for a marketing/advertising company. He has published two travel narratives about Latin America, a poetry chapbook, and an ESL textbook. At NAU, Stephen teaches courses in technical writing. He is also an avid tennis player.
