Paul Ferlazzo has written Emily Dickinson (Twayne-G.K. Hall, 1976) and edited The Collected Essays on Emily Dickinson (G.K. Hall, 1982). In addition he has published numerous articles on American authors--most recently on Robert Frost, Edwin Arlington Robinson, and Willa Cather--and presented dozens of conference papers on subjects ranging from Eugene O'Neill to what it's like to teach on television (something he occasionally does). His style of teaching is highly interactive and he encourages his students to share their insights and opinions about what they are learning. Among other activities he has taught in Italy, Germany and China, received a three-year Ford Foundation Grant to study literacy, a Teacher-Scholar Award from Michigan State and The President's Award at NAU. He is serving a three year term, 2004-2007, as President of the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
