Specializations: bilingualism; language policy; language pedagogy and classroom research; sociolinguistics, cultural influences on second language learning and teaching. Duties: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; conducting and supervising research; working to establish Ph.D. program, maintain MA/TESL program, and develop undergraduate ESL courses; advising students; serving on departmental, college, university committees; working with national and international professional organizations and committees.
