To complete the 36 hour requirement for an English MA with a Literature emphasis, students must successfully complete 21 hours of literature courses from 3 categories as outlined below: 3 hours from Methods/Theory, 12 hours from Traditions, and 6 hours from New Contexts. Students must also complete 3 hours of directed research (Eng. 685, Eng. 697, or Eng. 699), and 12 hours of electives approved by their graduate advisor. In addition to this coursework, the degree plan includes a required presentation at the NAU Graduate English Symposium, a professional conference, or other approved venue.
