Flagstaff Area Information

Flagstaff is a hidden treasure of the southwest nestled at the base of the San Francisco Peaks, along historic Route 66. It has a safe small town environment, yet offers the cultural experience of a university setting with opportunities to enjoy music and the arts, great food, cozy cafes all within walking distance of the university campus. It is renowned for its beautiful scenery year round, beautiful, cool summers, crisp, colorful falls, gorgeous snow covered winter wonderlands. The average year round temperature is 65 F (20C), offering wonderful opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors with nearby ski slopes, miles of easily accessible hiking and biking trails, cross country ski trails, and lakes for boating and fishing. Flagstaff offers many nearby attractions such as the Grand Canyon, the beautiful San Francisco Peaks, Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona and many other highly renowned natural and archaeological sites.
Flagstaff is located in north central Arizona. Convenient transportation by bus, rail and air is available from East and West coast cities. Flagstaff airport is serviced by US Airways and Alaska Airline or you may fly into Phoenix, Arizona, Sky Harbor Airport and take shuttle transportation to Flagstaff.
