In addition to an online MA in English with an emphasis in professional writing, NAU offers an 18-hour Certificate in Professional Writing. This certificate is designed to provide post baccalaureate education in communications skills that are in daily demand among engineers, scientists, finance experts, and other professionals at work in business, industry, and government.

You can earn the certificate in a calendar year by taking only online courses; two courses each session, including the summer.
There is no residency requirement for the Professional Writing Certificate or the online MA.
All the hours taken to obtain the certificate can also be used to fulfill the requirements for an MA in English or a Master's in Administration at NAU.
You must have an undergraduate degree, but it does not have to be in English.
