Call for Papers
Graduate Student Conference
Saturday, May 2, 2009: 9-5pm
Department of History, Northern Arizona University
The Department of History of the Northern Arizona University invites graduate students from across the arts, humanities, and social sciences to participate in its first Interdisciplinary Conference. Our intention is to provide graduate students from a variety of scholarly backgrounds and disciplines with a forum to present their current research. This will encourage interdisciplinary communication and cooperation between various departments and among universities.
Graduate students are invited to submit abstracts for 15-20 minute presentations by April 1, 2009. Since our objective is to open the floor to variety of new perspectives, students are welcome to submit papers on a number of themes.
Potential topics include:
- New approaches and perspectives within the researcher’s field
- Areas of contention or debate
- Interdisciplinary methods
- Original research in previously uninvestigated areas
- The application of new or alternative theories and methodologies
The abstract should not exceed 300 words. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by mid-April.
Please email electronic submissions of your abstracts to Kevin.Lawton@nau.edu and Stephani.Roberts@nau.edu.
