There are no prescribed programs within the Religious Studies degree. You may elect a BA or a minor. Read the eight-semester plan for the BA and a "flow sheet" of the requirements.
For the BA we require 36 units in the major, a four-term proficiency in a language other than English, a standard liberal studies and elective load and either a 12 unit focus or a minor (18 or above credits) to better tailor your academic career.
If you choose to pursue a focus, you must complete 12 units of courses that are related along thematic, geographic, or disciplinary lines. Please be aware that your advisor must approve these 12 units of coursework. If you choose to pursue a minor, you must complete a minor of at least 18 units from those described in the catalog, linked above. In consultation with your advisor, you should select a minor that’s appropriate for your career aspirations and educational needs.
