Learning Through Community: The Evolution of a Flagstaff Intergenerational Mentor Program
Intergenerational programs bring young and old together, helping to build caring and supportive bonds between these often age-segregated generations. This these offers a detailed analysis of an ongoing intergenerational program that began in the fall of 2005 at a private, Catholic primary school located in northern Arizona. I consider the effectiveness of this program in light of other intergenerational programs on the national scene and I analyze the importance of intergenerational education for strengthening community life.
