A Simple Three-Step Process

To be accepted to the School of Music as a music major, minor, or private student, you must:

1. Apply and be accepted unconditionally to Northern Arizona University through the Office of Admissions. Apply online or call (928) 523-5511

2. Submit a School of Music application and arrange an audition on your principal instrument and/or voice (learn more below) in front of a faculty screening committee. For full scholarship consideration, audition on or before March 6, 2010.

3. Perform at an acceptable level, and YOU’RE IN! Welcome to the NAU School of Music.

January 15, 16, 2010 (In conjunction with Mountain Blizzard)
Woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings, piano

February 12, 13, 2010 (In conjunction with the Jazz/Madrigal Festival)
Voice, strings, piano

February 26, 27, 2010 (In conjunction with the Jazz Festival)
Woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano

March 6, 2010
All instruments and voice

March 13, 2010

Notes:

For scholarship consideration, students must audition on or before March 6.

Auditionees who cannot make any of these times can arrange a special time with the audition coordinator in consultation with the individual professor.

Information sessions will only be offered on the following audition dates (specific times TBA):
January 16
February 13
March 6

The main audition day will be March 6. This day will feature an informational session in addition to a hospitality room and informational booths sponsored by our student organizations.
