Margaret Gunderson has been on the faculty at NAU since 1976, teaching private voice, diction for singers, class voice, and class piano. She has taught all levels of voice for over thirty years, with an emphasis on college level vocal students. She has also taught voice, piano, and choral music in the NAU Community Music and Dance Academy. Ms. Gunderson has performed in chamber music recitals, operas, and solo recitals at NAU, as well as at Bemidji State University (Minnesota) and University of North Dakota (Grand Forks), where she taught for six years prior to coming to NAU. She received a Bachelor of Music Education with honors with an emphasis in voice from Wheaton College (Illinois), and a Master of Music degree in Voice from University of Illinois (Urbana), where she coached with Ulanovsky and Dalheim. Recently Ms. Gunderson has attended many Vocal Performance and Pedagogy Institutes with Richard Miller of Oberlin College. She is a member of NATS and MTNA.
