The annual NAU Vocal Jazz & Madrigal Festival, one of the largest festivals of its kind in the Southwestern United States, features five guest clinicians and over 100 high school ensembles from Arizona and nearby states. The two-day festival includes a host concert in which choirs from NAU and professional groups of national and international stature appear.
This event will be held on the NAU campus in Flagstaff on Friday, February 12th and Saturday, February 13th, 2010. Ensembles of all ability levels are invited to participate.
The Jazz Clinicians will be Jennifer Shelton-Barnes, a performer, composer and arranger from Los Angeles and Rosanna Eckert from the University of North Texas. The Madrigal Clinicians will be Dr. Eric Johnson from Northern Illinois University, Dr. Steve Zielke from Oregon State University and Dr. Sandra Peter from Luther College.

Tickets for the evening concert feature Take Six and the NAU Shrine of the Ages Choir will go on sale Monday, October 26, 2009.
COST - $190.00 for each jazz and/or madrigal ensemble. Initially, we will accept only ONE ensemble in each category per school. Second ensembles will be accepted only after all applicants have been given the opportunity to schedule their first ensemble. Available slots will be assigned to second ensembles after the October 19th-October 23rd registration time period. Entry fee is due by Friday, December 11th. If the entry fee is not received by December 12th, 2008, reserved times will be given to the first school on the waiting list and your school will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list. Please note that this will be strictly enforced this year due to the high demand for festival slots.
Information on the 2010 NAU Jazz/Mad festival will be sent out in mid-September. Registration for the festival opens on Monday, October 19th at 7:00 a.m. If you have any questions feel free to contact us (928) 523-2642.
