The Northern Arizona Writing Project (NAWP) is an affiliate of the National Writing Project, a network of writing programs committed to the advancement of writing for K-12 teachers and students.
Principles that govern the Northern Arizona Writing Project:
- The best teacher of teachers is another teacher.
- Student writing can be improved by improving the teaching of writing.
- All students are entitled to equal access of knowledge.
- All students can achieve.
- A multicultural education enriches our students.
- Teachers of writing and literature must write and read.
- What is known about the teaching of writing comes not only from research but from the practice of those who teach.
