Our Basic and Advanced Summer Institutes
bring together teachers from throughout Arizona to study current theory and research in the teaching of writing, to share their successful classroom practices, and, of course, to write!
The Flagstaff Basic Summer Institute

The Flagstaff Summer Institutes are held in the cool and refreshing summer climate of Flagstaff, Arizona, which has an elevation of 7,000 feet. On your free days, visit the famous Museum of Northern Arizona, take the Arizona Snowbowl Skyride up to 13,000 feet, the Grand Canyon, or the Hopi and Navajo Reservations.
To participate in the Flagstaff Summer Institute you must be nominated by your school or school. NAWP’s selection committee reviews nominations to accept students for the Summer Institute. Because space is limited, apply early.
