Phi 408: Fieldwork Experience
FALL 2009
An opportunity for dedicated students to introduce philosophy into local high schools through the department’s mentoring program.
For the last four semesters, participating upper level NAU philosophy students have introduced philosophy into Flagstaff area high schools by presenting philosophy lessons and moderated philosophical discussions.
We seek to continue program development by sending students into high schools to facilitate a diverse program of philosophical lessons and discussions and to build academic relationships with teachers and students. This ONE CREDIT program will provide a foundation for philosophy students interested in deepening their understanding of philosophical content, the teaching of philosophy, as well as providing valuable experience to those considering teaching high school or aspiring to attend graduate school.
Applications must be submitted by April 26th, 2009
